Ayn Rand and Satanism

It has been over 50 years since Ayn Rand's novel Atlas Shrugged was published, and yet, her influence and popularity of the book, as well as her other works, are more popular than ever.

Ayn Rand was a proponent of egotistical self interest and laissez faire capitalism.
Her fans include such right-wing politicians and pundits as Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI).

Rand's philosophy promoted not only narcissistic selfishness, but a right-wing brand of atheism. She wrote in her journal that Christianity was the “kindergarten of communism” and believed that we should "love only those who deserve it.” She disclosed in a 1959 interview with Mike Wallace that she was "against God" and that she did "not approve of religion." In a 1964 interview in Playboy magazine she said that: “What I am fighting is the idea that charity is a moral duty.” It is this idea that has become the vanguard ideology of the Republican and Libertarian parties.

To the members of the Church of Satan, this would all sound very familiar. That is because these ideas can be found in the writings of its founder, Anton Lavey, and his book, The Satanic Bible.

In his Nine Satanic Statements Lavey declares:

Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence.
Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates.
Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires.
...etc.

What Lavey called "psychic vampires," Rand referred to as "parasites." In their sociopathic view of humanity, people who did not have the ability to be exemplary uber-beings were not worthy of courtesy or compassion.

Lavey admitted in a 1970 interview with the Washington Post that Ayn Rand was an inspiration for him, and revealed that he gave people: “Ayn Rand with trappings.”

Apparently, Anton Lavey, and perhaps even Satan himself, would agree. The question is: would the conservative evangelical Christians who support the Republican party agree as well?

Occupy Wall Street, Christians, and Pat Robertson

Despite the decree by Pat Robertson that Christians should not take place in the Occupy Wall Street movement, some Christians are actually bravely disregarding this edict and showing up to take a stand against greed, corruption, and avarice.

Perhaps it is time as progressive Christians that we also take a stand against the type of misunderstanding that Robertson represents.

Here is the contact information to Robertson's CBN network. Let's let him know how we feel.

Contact the 700 club at
http://www.cbn.com/contact/feedback-700club.aspx

Also, here is a good site that is monitoring Robertson's activities that he is doing in the name of our Jesus.

PS> A special thank you goes out to the good folks over at the Beatitudes Society for showing up to support this cause. Some have even volunteered as occupy site chaplains.

THE GENESIS OF REVELATION Book Now Available!

Great news! After many years of research and writing my book is finally finished.

I have just begun the process of looking for an agent and publisher. In the meantime I am pleased to announce that the first version of this work is now available on the Amazon kindle store!

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005RI4V7I#_

It is called The Genesis of Revelation: Secrets of the Bible Revealed and a Case for Reformation.

I describe it as a sort of non-fiction version of the DaVinci Code, although instead of finding clues within artworks of renaissance artists and historic locations, the clues to unraveling this consequential and real life ancient mystery will be found within the records of the ancient Gnostic Christians and the Bible itself.

Here is a breif description:

According to Jesus (Mark 4.22 and Luke 19.42), the primary underlying message of his teachings was "hidden" from those who were not ready receive it. This special knowledge that was concealed from the general public is related to what is referred to in the Old Testament (Deuteronomy 29.29) as the "secret things" of the Lord.

Until now, the "sacred secrets of the kingdom of God," (Luke 8.10, Matthew13.11) have never been made public to the world. However, clues left to us in the writings of the ancient Gnostic Christians, as well as the Bible itself, have made it possible to understand and reveal these incredible hidden matters for the first time in the modern era. The result with shake the very foundations of Judeo-Christianity.

What the ground-breaking findings will reveal, is that almost everything that the world knows about the Bible were formulated by men who did not understand the underlying true history and teachings of God and Jesus.

Pat Robertson Does Not Seem To Be Aware Of What Jesus Said

By Aerik Vondenburg

Pat Robertson (chairman of the Christian Broadcasting Network and former Republican presidential candidate),told his "700 Club" viewers that divorcing a spouse with Alzheimer's is justifiable because the disease is "a kind of death."

(And yet they believe that Terri Schiavo should have been kept alive?)

Divorcing a spouse when they need support the most?

According to the Bible, Jesus spoke out against those who did not honor their marriage vows.

“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.' For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

- Jesus
Mark 10.6
